Meet the Doula
Hi! I'm Fredi, and I'm honored to be a part of your birthing story.
As an ecologist and spiritual seeker, I am so grateful to have wandered into the world of birth work — it's this deeply personal, synergetic work that draws me in and feels like a natural union of my passions and gifts. Birth amazes me in its physiology, in how it reconnects us so clearly to the natural world, and in the way it illuminates our true power as women. Women as nature, women as sacred intuition, women as the mediums through which life continues to spring forth!
In January 2024, after years of serving in mentorship roles, guiding group yoga and meditation, and working on organic farms, I felt the call to step into birth work — another nurturing role. I trained as a doula with home birth midwife Michelle Welborn out of Natural Resources in San Francisco. She inspired my dream of eventually becoming a midwife.
Just as I trust in you and your intuition, I trust in my own ability to be a calming, grounding presence for you throughout your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. My role as your doula is to be a sister and friend, a therapist and soundboard, a mentor and informant; empowering you with knowledge that allows you to champion your inner wisdom and make the best decisions for you — your body, your baby, your birth. I'll be the first to follow your lead.
When not attending births, I am practicing yoga, hiking or backpacking, writing poems, surfing, cooking with my husband, learning a new skill, or tending to my garden. I love language and am happy to support families with German and Spanish language preferences.

She does have a sweet spot for the babies. References available upon request.
